Inspiration/Results 5

Oh Mrs. Kinsey Mhire, how lovely lovely you are. Her blog, Sincerely, Kinsey has just recently become one of my daily favorites. She has the most adorable style, her projects rock and she's just, just, ok I have a bit of a girl crush.
I do a lot of her projects actually, probably more than any other blog I read, most of the time I see a project she's done and I feel like I have to do it right then and there. Such was the case with the Branch Picture Frame Project
This is the inspiration.
This is the result.
I'm held back by not being able to put holes in the wall so I had to a hanger piece to the top. And I haven't really printed off any photos larger enough to justify a frame like this so I used one a a set of mushroom plates  from this vintage botanical book that I've been holding onto forever.
I'm going to make more for sure but I'm also so charmed by the painted sticks that I'm thinking I might go collect and create a whole little Mason jar display of them later on today.
Oh my tiny room, I fill it up so quick.

DIY/Restyle/BleachDyed Shirt

I buy super cheap clothes and then...make them better
This DIY really isn't anything special or new it just turned out pretty cool so I thought sure why not.
Some how the picture I took for What You'll Need did not show up anywhere on my computer and has misteriously disappeared from my camera...
You Will Need-
A shirt you want to make better
scissors
bleach

I like my tanks to be short in the front party in the back. To do this, just lay the shirt flat out front to back and cut at an angle, not too drastically might I add, unless you want a crop top, then by all means.
Then I just started cutting a random hole pattern varying in size and shape.
Not pictured-
I also cut out the collar seem to make it slightly more flattering, also making it slightly more revealing.
The bleach process, I dyed with bleach and rubber bands at first then when I wasn't happy with those results just simply put it in the wash. It went through three processes there, I added bleach to the cycle, I slash dyed, I splattered, I at one point just poured the damn bleach right on top.
These are the results.
It was daytime so the under tank is only appropriate.
Bam, there you go, now you've turned a $4 tank into something cool and one of a kind.

Inspiration/Results 4

I'm a pretty avid reader of Elsie Larson's blog A Beautiful Mess so when I saw the post she did for the Floral Antler Necklace Display I was like suh-weet.
This is the inspiration
I love it, I love antlers and things that remind me of the wild. A lot of my nekclaces are too long for most jewelry stnds so really this is perfect, except it's not totally my style.
This is the result
Sorry my walls are so boring gosh...
So instead of flowers I wrapped the center of mine with yarn that matches the dream catcher necklace I had made previously. I was being honest with myself and probably wasn't going to wear it much so I put it to better use.
Also, yes that's my new raccoon tail and I'm absolutely smitten with it. I wish I wore more than I could attach it to, I only wear skirts and dresses, but instead I just slip it to whatever bag I'm using for the day and voila.

Electric Blue

I'm the kind of person where when I find something that I can't afford but clearly can not live without, it makes me irrationally sad and angry.
I know, I'm kind of just like a huge brat, whatever, eat a dick.
Such is the case with these two amazing AMAZING bags from Soul Leather Studio
And this electric blue deerskin one

Oh, oh, oh and this one

Any three of these are like my dream bag and unfortunately I can't afford it and I'm sort of having trouble finding someone else to get me one...who knew.
What's really annoying is that I can't seem to find material anything like this ANYWHERE so I cant even make my own.

Smash it in there

Have you seen the Smash book line at Micheal's? They're like scrap books for the lazy, and I love them. They come in a few design options, Mod, Eco, Retro, it was a hard choice between the Retro and Eco but in the end I went with Eco. I'm so inlove with it, it's a place to put all that random paper crap I 've had lying around, the pages are super cute, and it's less cheesy than a regular one, and less expensive. They also sell a whole line of goodies to embellish it with. OH YEAH and one of the best parts is that it comes with a handy device that's a marker pen on one side and a glue stick on the other, and it has it's own special loop on the book so you never lose it. Genius.

Yes, that's little Megan in red cowboy boots, it was my first day of school, circa 1995.

Why hello there

I'm so busy and so stressed out and so frantic most of the time that I completely forget to post most days. Then the days when I do remember there's either no time or some kind of computer malfunction and I just can't stand the pressure!!!
But I'm here now, and this is what I've been up to, crafty wise.

Hollowed out book jewelry box

I've been meaning to hollow out a book for ages, I actually go out and buy books for this very purpose. It's just one of those things that's slips my mind as soon as I get home. The other day I saw a tutorial for the very things over on Sincerely, Kinsey and was all like "oh yea, hollowed books." so I got right on top of it and this is what I made. The graphic is a papercut I made a while back so I just painted it black and slapped it on there with some glue. I've had a few people ask if I'm selling these, which is crazy flattering and if I think there's really an interest in them then I most certainly will. Unless I find a vintage copy of Peter Pan, in which case I will cherish it forever and this one will go up for sale instead.
I'm so obsessed with Peter Pan right now.

Hand carved Stamp Tag

Another thing I've been talking about doing for a while is making some stamps to carry around and tag the world with. Some people use spray paint, some people print stickers, but I'm better than that. And stamps are just a lot more discrete than carrying around a can of spray paint. So look for posts documenting the best places I've tagged so far.
Necklaces

Yes yes. more results from tutorials on Sincerely, Kinsey, it's quickly becoming my favorite blog for DIY projects, everything she makes is just so damn lovely and my style.

Nebula Wall Art

Ok these are a little out of my crafty character but the only thing I love more than feathers and Peter Pan right now is space. This was super easy and super quick and loosely based off a project from A Beautiful Mess

Feather clip-ins

Oh, that's right, I rock em. And I rock the shit outta them too. I made a couple of couple of these but I've had to switch out almost all the clips they came with. Waif clips are the only ones that will stay in my hair all day.

(read story below for explanation on this picture)
A little story through texts...
Kyle- send me some pictures of your beautiful self.
Megan-I'm not sending you naked pictures dude
Kyle-No of your face, with clothes ON silly goose. I'm setting it as my phone background.
Megan-Oh ok hold on then, this is like more awkward actually.
Kyle-Only because you're making it awkward.
Megan-I'm an awkward girl.
Kyle-I concur.

I promise promise promise to post tomorrow, I've already got it almost ready to go. But for now I have to do stupid homework.
