It's nice, when things are nice

Things I like to hear-
-Student advisers calling other advisers into the room to show them how impressive I am for taking a full load of online classes, my first semester back at school, and getting such good grades.
Apparently, that doesn't happen so often, being that I go to community college, I can see that.
-Finding out that the classes I took last semester were worth more than I thought and tat I've actually already met the requirements for some of my specialized areas.
-That one class doesn't start till Jan 17 and the rest don't start till Jan 23
-When my boyfriend says thing like..actually no, still too cheese and too soon to publish on the Internet. But dude, is it so great.
-And I love love love talking/planning about being  HOME for the first time in 2 years. I'll be there in less than 21 days and plans have changed so drastically that Kyle and I are spending the entire visit at Rachel's house. ARE YOU KIDDING ME
I'm not going to be able to shut up about this.
-The Black Keys, who I'm currently obsessed with.
-Since we're one the topic, that my brother is done syncing all my music on to my new ipod, which he gave me.
Now, I must go work on a guest post I promised to do and maybe if I'm motivated enough some more of my own.
I'm about to do a small series on quick easy holiday gifts, so look forward to that if you want

So...this goes in a category

Known as "drunk posts"
I'm not drunk, that drunk, but I've been drinking and I'm posting so why not right? I'm goig to feature a link to  Ms. Jordann's giveaway be sure to enter. Not only is it super awesome but I can't enter. 1-it's my child in the photo so I already have the prize. 2-if I won that just wouldn't be fair.
I had more to say, but really all I want to do it listen to music and shop.
Not order, shop,
there's a difference.
I love you

Random hemp explosion

So seriously, I haven't made one of these since high school.
OK that's a lie, I made one once one time since then.
And suddenly I have five. I blame it on Kyle and that fact that I've had that stupid thing of glass beads for like a year and was really just trying to get rid of them.
Or maybe I'm just relapsing into my old ways...

OK so two days ago I go this text from this guy I know asking me for my address (yeah,it probably shouldn't be that easy to get my address but it is) and telling me I need to be home on Monday because he ordered me something and it will be here then.
I hate anticipation.
I hate surprises.
I hate waiting.
I think I know what it is, I just don't want to say because what if I'm wrong...
I'll let you know tomorrow.

Also side note, I check my flight reservations on like four or five times a day just to make sure they're still there and this is still happening.

i need new plugs

I did have a really nice set of metal tunnels, but you know one fell in the toilet and got flushed away so I had to get a new set, which I got from Hot Topic and they suck. They're too long, the bands keep falling of because they're only tapered on one side, they just suck. I need new ones.
So I've narrowed it down to three-
These really awesome Banksy ones...I think I might go with these, they're pretty amazing
These vintage American flag ones that I'm oddly attracted to because I am surprisingly patriotic, I was planning on wearing a flag shirt tomorrow actually
These  because, well obviously
I think I'm getting the Banksy s ones, they're probably the coolest and cleanest looking or I might just get all three

OH AND IN OTHER NEWS I am happy to announce that I will be going to GEORGIA for a very quick visit in less than a month, omfg I'm so stoked, you don't understand.
Kyle, Rachel and possibly Victor all in one trip?!?!?!? My heart can't it, it will be like the best day ever.

Again, Just showcasing a shop, but this shop, this shop, is amazing.I mean really what do I love? Anything that reminds me of the forest, pirate ships, chunky crystals, and vintage.
I also love tiny hearts.

ALL of these stunning pieces can be found in Renata & Jonathan jewelry and art

Well Well Well

Everything is actually kind of amazing right now but I'm sort of too tired and stressed to not be grouchy for no reason. You know what I mean? Lol the other night this happened but I was also drinking Jameson which also makes me grouchy sometimes (which is totally random because I pretty much only drink whiskeys when I drink) and I think I was a bitch for no reason. That's never a cute look.
This is my last week of classes, well for the semesters anyway, four classes only two finals but only one study guide. What the fuck. That's not fair, we should get something, some inkling of what to expect just so we can time it out properly.
Also I'm about to start a huge fuckin project, so huge I'm totally ignoring everything else I have going on...shit's going to be awesome though...look forward to that.
I feel like my life is about to get all kinds of stressful again, I've got like some huge decisions to make that will change everything for everyone and like I really have no idea what to do.
I know what I  want to do, I know what will make me and us happy it just like would cause a huge shit storm and I don't know if I can take it not working out

Needle felting, tutorial, diy mushroom

 You will need-
Pretty roving, I wish I knew more about this, I know this is natural dyed wool I get from Fancy Tiger but that's about all I know, I don't by it weighted because I don't know how, it normally just comes in bundled packs, which you can now buy at major craft stores.
Needle felting out, this is a triangular barbed piece of steel, which you will be repeatedly stabbing with. You will stab your finger and it will hurt. Also watch out, because they can break and go flying into your eye.
1. It's all about wisps, pinch off what you think you'll need, I always get more than I mean to but it all gets compacted down anyway.
2. Take roving and rigorously roll it between your palms until it starts to form some kind of shape, I was making a mushroom so I did it until I got a stalk shape.
3. Take stalk and fold it in half, and then in fourths and then roll that together
4. Now it's time to felt! This is really just a process of stabbing and matting all that roving together until is so tangled it won't loss shape. Do it at a slight angle to avoid ugly pin holes and go around and around to avoid making it flat
Ta-da, shroom stalk
5. Take some more wisps for the cap, you want way more than the stalk. Roll it into a ball shape, the tighter and more ball shaped the easier it will be to actually felt. Felting balls is a pain in the ass and they make tools to get around it, I might look into that.
6. Needle felt away! This is harder because you really want it to be even all the way around, without any lumps or bumps. You also want it to look like a solid piece, so work on hiding the connecting pieces
7. Take slivers, if you think you have too little, you have too me. and roll them into teeny tiny balls with your fingers. These should be so small you don't need to felt them together at all, just to connect them to the cap.
8. If you want to get fancy with it, take like literally a single fiber, roll, connect, depth.
9. Somehow I didn't get a photo of this but basically, take your stalk and cap and felt them together, make sure its felted and matted really really well or else it will fall apart.
10. Place outside with your handmade felted gnome...oh wait you didn't already make on of these? I got this one at this years Horseshoe Market, at Vital's booth (you should go there and support my LOCAL GOODS MARKETS lol, they have some kickass clothes, I know I have some) and while I can't find the link for this kit, here's a pretty awesome one
I hope this helped, I learned to felt from this kit...

My new favorite etsy shop

After Austin talked me out of spending way too much money on a very cool Beatles crop top at Urban Outfitters today I decided I had to have one, and I had to have it tonight. At first I really wanted a vintage one, I don't know what the hell I was thinking, but they were all too expensive. Then I came across So You Think You Can Rock and found something better than I could have ever imagined...
I'm surprised I was able to stop myself from ordering about 10 more shirts all at once. And everything is $15.99, how great is that. After this one gets here and I make sure of the quality (the shop has great reviews) I'm going to order...everything, ok no not everything but where do I begin?
Jim Morrison, if you knew me in high school then you know that The Doors played a pretty pivotal role in my life.
Clearly, this shop exists for me...this is just to list a few, I really might need to have them all. they're just so damn cool.

EEW#7 On a Friday

I know it's Friday ok, I'm sorry, I don't think anyone actually reads these anyway so bite me

Diamonds and Crystals...
I love the look of rough/raw/natural cut diamonds. My mom said "Megan that's not a diamond that's coal..." I just think there so interesting looking.
This poster print by Debbie Carlos
I mentioned a few days ago how much I love her work
Oh wait I have this ring and I'm sorry but One Stop Ring Shop is lying, this ring came from Target, as did some of the others listed, and it's not a natural stone, it's acrylic...this is awkward.
Sooo pretty
I am IN LOVE with this amazing necklace by Georgie Designs

So now for some unrelated notes-
Doing and upcoming guest post for my friends lovely sewing blog
Going to craft shows this weekend and having Abbey Memphis' pictures made on Sunday, my mother in insisting on it.
Had a great thrifting day...really probably one of the best
Oh and I was at this store today trying to decide if I really need a new Juicy Couture wallet and in the process Abbey threw up on me twice, so I took it as a sign and left...
